This SIG has come to an end.  Details of the events that were held are set out below.

BDO, 55 Baker Street, London, W1U 7EU

Follow on funding – what are the options and how do you maintain momentum?

This event is free for all cleantech companies throughout the UK.

Companies may already have received research grants and seed funding and are now ready to go to market with a real product or service. They may already have revenues and are starting to gain some traction in the market, needing therefore to expand production to meet the developing demand. An order for a new facility or a quantity of goods beyond existing production capabilities may be sitting on the books. How do these activities get funded?

Cleantech has matured into an established market and the emphasis has evolved so that there is now a focus on the adoption of sustainable solutions, the construction of the sustainable infrastructure and the roll-out of systems to support a new way of doing things. This requires equity, debt and project finance and sometimes a mixture of all three. This seminar will look at financing operations that are in this market establishment, breakthrough and expansion phase, with a technology that is proven and a targeted customer base.

Getting Ready to Attract Equity Finance

This event is free for all cleantech companies throughout the UK.

Before an investor or financier will engage with your proposal, they will be looking for certain things to be in place, for specific information to be available and for the business to be in a particular form. They will also be assessing the risks that the business faces and what plans are in place to achieve the corporate objectives and to manage the risks that might derail those plans.

This meeting will provide an overview of what you can do to make your investment attractive to investors. It will enable you to go away and prepare your business so that “it ticks all the right boxes”.

At this event, you will hear a presentation from Michael Ware, Corporate Finance Partner, and then look at some case studies. You will then be able to ask questions directly about your situation and to ascertain what financing options are most likely to be open to you and how best to access them.

Equity or debt to finance my project?

The first meeting of the Raising Finance SIG will take place on Tuesday 10 June from 5.30pm at BDO’s head office at 55 Baker Street, London, W1U 7EU.

The title of this event is: Equity or debt to finance my project? This event is free for all cleantech companies throughout the UK.

Cleantech is maturing quickly, but there are still new technologies or variations of older technologies that are yet to be rolled out in volume. Whether it is in the waste, water, energy or other sustainable economic sector, finance is needed to build the early installations, to get the products to market and to scale up the facilities. Can these investments be funded by non-recourse project finance, by equity first and then refinanced or is equity, the most expensive and difficult to obtain form of finance, the only way forward? This event is a golden opportunity to present your business situation to one of the leading firms advising cleantech companies looking for finance to take their business forward.

At this event, you will hear a presentation from Michael Ware, Corporate Finance Partner, and then look at some case studies. You will then be able to ask questions directly about your situation and to ascertain what financing options are most likely to be open to you and how best to access them.
